We accept mail-in jeans for select services: hemming, repair, split-hem finish, and downsizing. Custom fitting (The Bushwick Fit) requires an in-person appointment.
HOW IT WORKS
- Start your order. Purchase the Mail-In Evaluation ($50) and complete the intake form with your measurements and photos of the garment, including the areas to be worked on.
- Ship us your jeans. You pay to ship them to us. We recommend a tracked, insured method. Include your order number inside the package.
- We inspect and quote. Within 3 business days of arrival, we'll email you a written quote and timeline. Nothing is started until you approve the quote and pay it in full.
- We do the work. Turnaround is 1 week for hems and quick services, 2–3 weeks for more complex repairs, from the day your payment clears.
- We ship back. Return shipping is a $14 flat rate within the continental US, tracked and paid before your jeans go out. Alaska, Hawaii, and international returns are quoted separately.
EVALUATION FEE
The $50 Mail-In Evaluation fee covers inspection and quoting. It is applied to your final bill if you approve the work. If you decline the quote, we'll return your jeans once you pay return shipping, and the fee is not refunded.
QUOTES AND PRICING
Listed prices are starting prices. The final price depends on the garment's condition and the work needed, and it is confirmed in your written quote. If we find damage or issues that change the scope, we'll contact you before doing anything further.
VINTAGE AND WORN DENIM
Older denim can have weak fabric, hidden wear, or fading that isn't visible until we work on it. We'll tell you what we see and advise honestly, but vintage garments carry inherent risk. By approving the quote, you accept that we can't guarantee results on fragile or heavily worn fabric, and we aren't responsible for pre-existing damage or further wear that shows up during repair.
ALTERATIONS ARE FINAL
Because alterations are custom to your garment, they can't be reversed or refunded once completed. If something isn't right with our workmanship, contact us within 7 days of delivery and we'll re-fix it at no charge. This doesn't cover fit preferences you approved in your quote.
SHIPPING AND RISK
You're responsible for the jeans until they reach us. We aren't liable for loss or damage in transit to us, and we recommend insuring your shipment. Return packages are shipped tracked via USPS. Vintage or high-value pieces may require insured shipping at additional cost, which we'll quote before we ship. Our liability for any garment lost or damaged while in our care is limited to the declared value on your intake form, up to $200.
RETURN SHIPPING
Return shipping is $14 flat rate for the continental US and is included on your quote. You'll pay it with the cost of the work, and we won't send your jeans out until the full balance is paid.
UNCLAIMED ITEMS
If you don't respond to our quote or don't pay for return shipping within 30 days of our notice, we'll send a final notice. After 60 days total, unclaimed items are considered abandoned and may be donated or disposed of, and no refund is owed.
WHAT WE WON'T ACCEPT
Items with mold, pest infestation, or heavy contamination, and jeans you don't have the right to have altered.
